Dr Skouras has been my ophthalmologist for many years now (treating post eye surgery) and can not say enough about him and his entire team. Pleasant and engaging with clients. Detailed in explaining your situation and showing a path forward in treatment(s) Great bunch.

Dr. Nicholas Skouras seriously changed my life. I went with laser vision correction because I just wanted freedom. Waking up and actually being able to see, jumping in the lake without a second thought, not dealing with glasses every single day. From the first consult, Dr. Skouras was super knowledgeable and thorough, especially helping me decide between LASIK and PRK. He explained both really clearly, didn't rush me at all, and made sure the decision was based on what's actually best for my eyes and not just what's easiest. I'm so glad I listened to him and went with PRK. It was 100% the right call for me and the results have been amazing. What really stood out was how meticulous he was about the outcome. He didn't just do the procedure and send me off. He genuinely took the time to make sure everything was healing right and that my vision actually got to 20/20. We had a bunch of follow-ups and every single one felt careful, reassuring, and like he actually cared. Now that I'm fully healed I can honestly say this was one of the best decisions I've ever made. My vision's crisp, day-to-day life is just easier, and I haven't had any increase in dry eye which was something I was worried about. If you're thinking about PRK or LASIK and want a surgeon who's skilled, honest, and genuinely invested in getting you the best result, I can't recommend Dr. Skouras enough. The guy's a perfectionist and a master of his craft, which is exactly what your eyes deserve.

1) Initial Response from Patient: He seemed knowledgeable, but the overall experience felt somewhat transactional to me. He recommended a test that wasn’t covered by OHIP (and to his credit, he did let me know in advance), but I was surprised to learn there was also a fee just to receive a printed copy of his notes and my personal report. That felt excessive to me and left me a bit uncomfortable with the process. 2) Response From Owner: Thanks for taking the time for providing your feedback. It is standard practice that all patients are entitled to access their medical chart. However in accordance with OHIP and College guidelines, a nominal fee is charged for this service, which we adhere to. Many tests conducted in medical practice are optional and not covered by OHIP. We clearly communicate this to all patients, explaining the proposed procedures and associated fees. Our primary goal is to deliver exceptional patient care with transparent fees based on OHIP and College regulations. We regret that you felt inclined to issue a 1 star rating due to a standard fee for obtaining your medical chart. 3) Response from Patient: Patients have a legal right to access their medical records, and I agree that clinics are permitted, under PHIPA and College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario guidance, to charge reasonable cost-recovery fees for providing copies of those records. I am not disputing that principle. My concern is with how that principle is being applied in this specific case. A charge of $25+ to print or email a short set of notes and a personal report, generated during my visit, does not appear to reflect the actual cost of staff time, materials, or retrieval involved. PHIPA and CPSO guidance is clear that any such fee must be limited to reasonable cost recovery and not used as a revenue source. In my case, there was no file search, off-site retrieval, or complex preparation required. It was simply a request for a copy of documents that already existed in electronic form. This is why the fee felt disproportionate and unexpected. Many clinics provide similar documentation at no charge or for a minimal administrative fee, which is why this stood out to me and informed my original review. Again, just because the law allows you to do something doesnt mean you take advantage of that law and go extreme (morally questionable behavior). My intent is not to dispute your right to charge a fee, but to raise a legitimate concern about whether the amount charged aligns with regulatory guidance on reasonable cost recovery. This seems worthy of a CBC Marketplace report. I regret that you feel inclined to gaslight your patients when you get called out for something morally questionable.

Dr. Skouras did my LASIK procedure at TLC Toronto. I am beyond happy with the not only my results, but with the time, care and attention he gave me before, during and after my surgery. He addressed all my questions and concerns. Best decision I’ve made!
