Toronto Facial Plastic Surgery: Dr. Andres Gantous in Toronto

I had a revision septorhinoplasty with rib grafts almost two years ago and my nose is still swollen and the nasal bones are still tender. I can't go and see the doctor, because he's extremely abusive, condescending and arrogant. I'm autistic and suffer extreme PTSD. I asked to have my care transferred to another plastic surgeon. I received such a bs reply from his office, saying they couldn't find a plastic surgeon and that I should go through my GP. Utter nonsense, the idea that they can't find a plastic surgeon and my GP can, is not even remotely believable. Dr. Gantous has a duty of care, but he's just trying to get rid of me, because he can't be bothered. Most likely because I'm an OHIP patient and he can't make any money off me. The kinda guy who's kind acts, however rare, are motivated by self interest and increasing his earning potential. He's so sketchy, it's unbelievable.

I dont recommend him , I went there to do a surgery to breath better , so not even a cosmetic surgery , he said 80% chance of success , which is high !! but I had a bad vibe seeing him the first time , my gut was telling me to not go to him because I felt he didnt care at all , and hey that might make you a good doctor right, to be so desensitized to your patients but my breathing didnt get fixed , its now 3 years after the surgery and theres a bump on my nose. so even if your family doctor and another surgeon recommend this guy , letting you know my experience with hm

I just read a review from Victoria T. And I can basically repeat word for word my experience. I went for surgery back in October 2023 for a revision septoplasty using a rib graft. Since then, my nose is still numb, my nostril is more narrow and when I brought it up to him he didn't seem to care much. He prescribed these silicone inserts after the fact. Would have been nice to try prior to surgery. OHIP covered it but I still expected him to be caring. I didn't see him prior to surgery on the day of and I didn't see him after surgery the day of. My breathing is WORSE and breath right strips don't even help anymore. My nose looks different and they flattened the tip. It's one of my biggest regrets going through with this surgery. He said there was a 90% chance it would help and then later told me " I heard what I wanted to hear". That's not the case. Also said he'll only do this surgery if he's training students. Many of his helpers the day of surgery seems quite young. Just brushing off my complaints and concerns and didn't seem to care about me as a patient. Very disappointed. I have daily issues that are worse now because I trusted him to help me. It's taken me a year to speak my mind.

The doctor who made my life worse. I have been struggling with breathing through my left nostril for a long time. I have seen many doctors, and only Dr. Gantous told me he knew what the issue was. I got very excited and agreed to a rib graft surgery, thinking I had finally found the solution to get better but I was wrong. Not only did he make my breathing worse, but the appearance of my nose also changed, even though he assured me it wouldn’t and that he would only replace my septum using a rib graft. When I told him I felt worse, he tried to refer me to other ENTs so he wouldn’t have to deal with me, as breathing issues are apparently not his specialty. When I expressed concern about the shape of my nose, he told me, “What did you expect? It’s a surgery covered by OHIP.” Well, I expected at least more accurate work, not butchering my nose, and some respect. Even if I didn’t pay for the surgery in his private clinic, I am still a human being. He was rude, arrogant, and completely uncaring. It’s been a few years, and I still struggle with my health. At least before he touched my nose I could manage my situation with medications. I regret my decision to trust him. No other doctor in the GTA is willing to work with me now; as soon as they hear that Gantous operated on me, they tell me to go back to him. It’s a vicious loop. Think twice before choosing this doctor. Regarding Google reviews. I’ve been wanting to leave a review for a while and have noticed that some of the bad reviews I’ve read in the past have disappeared. He somehow manages to delete the negative ones or probably deletes the old listing and creates a new one within Google I will make sure mine stays.

I cannot say enough about my experience with Dr. Gantous. From the day I came in for my consultation for breathing issues and a deviated septum.. he made me feel safe and comfortable with the procedure that he was about to do. I won’t get into full details about my surgery but it was a Septorhinoplasty with a rib graft among a few other procedures. The process has been amazing .. from day one with the receptionists and then day of surgery with Dr. Gantous’ Nurses … I was very nervous on my day of surgery but they made me feel safe and comfortable and treated me like one of there own.. this surgeon has a very gentle comforting way of dealing with his patients. I just got home from my two week preop and for the first time in 10 years I can breathe properly through both nostrils! I cannot say enough about this man .. he brought me tears of joy today and I cannot thank him enough. If you or any of your family members or friends need surgery from this doctor he is definitely your man you will not be disappointed.
