I was recommended by a friend to get Bellafill for my smile lines, and I’m so glad I found Dr. Mona! She’s very professional and skilled — the result is perfect. Only a few doctors in BC are Bellafill-certified, and smile line injections require great technique. Bellafill lasts a long time, truly deserving its nickname “liquid gold.”

I've had 5 treatments done at Shine so far and I'm incredibly satisfied with the standard of care and results. I was suggested to Shine by my family doctor after I expressed I wanted to get my acne scars fixed so I had a consultation with Dr. Mona where I was suggested to their golden standard of which included microneedling, PRP injection, Subcision, and Halo. These treatments were administered by Dr Mona Khurana and Ruby Nagra-smith, who were incredible kind, informative, and clear about expectations for the procedures. The Results so far have been incredible. I started seeing my face become smoother in a little over a week and follow-up laser aftercare treatments reduced the redness significantly. I've since come back for keloid injections for raised bumps on my nose and so far the results have also been great the bumps on the right side of my nose have been significantly reduced and I'm coming back to get the left side done next week!

After years of dealing with an undiagnosed skin condition, I asked my family practitioner to refer me to Shine. Dr. Mona spent a lot of time in determining the likely diagnosis, and recommended mixed pharmaceutical, laser + skin care regime to improve my skin. She’s and her practitioners have made a huge difference in the way my skin looks today and I’m so happy I found Shine.

After much consideration, I decided to try this clinic, but I left disappointed. There’s no dermatologist on site, and although Dr. Mona is an MD, consultations are handled by estheticians—which doesn’t inspire much confidence. From the start, the focus feels more on selling than on patient care. Overpriced products and questionable treatments are recommended, leaving the experience rushed and transactional. Profit seems to take priority over genuine care. A more transparent approach would be to acknowledge when treatments aren’t likely to provide real benefit, instead of encouraging unnecessary spending. At the very least, consultation fees should be applied toward treatment, as is standard at most reputable medical offices. My advice: slow down and take a more personalized, one-on-one approach. Dr. Khurana or a qualified dermatologist should be actively involved in consultations, and treatment plans should be tailored to individual needs. The so-called “gold standard” isn’t always the best fit for every patient.
