SANATIO SPA Japan in Vancouver

Quite honestly the best massage I have ever had. Yumi read my muscle tension to the tee and the pressure was PERFECT for the entire treatment. I wish I would have found this place sooner as am not from Vancouver and this will be my last trip here for a while. Only thing that caught me off guard was the level of static in the massage table dressings. Pre and post massage experience were phenomenal.

Honestly amazing experience. We did a couple's massage and it was one of the most relaxing experiences we've had. We had the added hot stone and cupping treatment, and it felt amazing. The head massage was also suuper relaxing too. I also appreciate how they used face cleanser and wet towels to clean off any massage oil, and also put face moisturizer on too. The experience felt really complete and full of subtle quality details. The tatami room was also a really nice touch too.

I booked a service at Sanatio Spa expecting a noticeable difference between the $189 and $240 options, especially since I chose a therapist for a more professional experience. Unfortunately, the upgrade only included a few hot stones and didn’t feel any different in pressure, technique, or overall quality. For a higher-priced service, I expected more attention to detail and skill — not just an add-on. I was also surprised to be asked for a tip after already paying a premium price. At that point, the experience felt more like upselling than genuine care. The environment itself was pleasant, but I’d really encourage the spa to focus on transparency — clearly explain what justifies the price difference and ensure that “therapist-level” service feels distinct. Customers shouldn’t feel pressured to tip when the cost already implies professional quality.
