Guerlain Spa at Four Seasons Montreal in Montreal

After spending my day at the four seasons hotel for spa services and lunch, I feel compelled to leave an honest review about my experience. There are many aspects of the review so I will try to keep it concise. The brunch was good. From the review photos I was expecting a lobster omelet with large pieces of lobster and breakfast potatoes and instead it was a very yummy omelet with less lobster and nothing else on the plate. For $75 breakfast that is quite steep. A few potatoes would have been appreciated. There was no orange juice for breakfast which is quite shocking at a 5 star hotel. I was told they have run out. No oranges? My cappucino was cold and I requested it to be redone. It was received at the end of my meal. My server was very pleasant. The spa services which totalled $1333 for 4 hours were the disappointment of the day. The massage was painful and not relaxing. Mediocre at best, Painful in areas like my arm? It was aggressive and not therapeutic in the least. I had to ask the masseuse to stop. I felt uneasy and stressed afterwards. The hydrafacial was again aggressive. I asked the technician to stop and try to apply it more gently which she did. Im not sure why it was being done so aggressively since she assured me that it doesnt make a difference the facial machine does the work anyway. After my facial I was all red on my face even after I was told I would not be and upon looking closer at my skin, it looked exactly the same. I also received chemical liquid in my eye which should never happen. That is a safety concern. For a $500 facial, I still have white heads under the skin and issues that were not addressed. Im not sure what the premium price was for. Im simply feeling ripped off at the moment. I was not shown around the facility or explained how things worked such as the relaxation area with the small pools. The receptionist Laurence? Said she would meet me to explain and then never did. The bathrobe I was given was ripped!! At a 5 star hotel? It was also quite small, not luxurious and oversized like it should be. It looked like it was washed and dried like a million times. I am a fan of the Abeille Royale Guerlain products. I use them myself at home. They are luxury products and the spa is a Guerlain spa using them for all the services. I could not find a guerlain face cream or an abeille hair conditioner in sight. A guerlain hand creme maybe by the sink? The luxury products are under lock and key and for the prices being charged they should be more readily available in my opinion. I paid for a hair serum which was applied and. I could not feel it in my hair and I requested it be put in again. That was done at no extra cost I was told. Upon paying my bill I was encouraged to leave a tip and when I told the receptionist I had some issues with the service, I was still instructed to leave a tip again. I guess she didn't want me to misunderstand so she told me Two times. That should have been the time to get the manager but unfortunately she did not. I figured I will take care of it another way. All in all for a $1500 few hours, I cannot recommend the spa treatments. I was expecting an amazing spa experience and it is not what I received. The premises are beautiful to look at I have to admit and the food I sampled was delicious. Perhaps the four seasons should stick to hospitality instead of health and beauty services.

EXTREMELY disappointed. DO NOT book the bath. Went with my friend and got charged $160 EACH and we show up and it’s 1 single bathtub? Why did they expect us to share, nothing on the website stated the bath was for couples. Even if we were a couple why should we both pay $160 to take a single bath together? Our bill including treatments was $1200….. and then they had the audacity to suggest leaving a $200 tip each? This place needs a shake in the head. Besides my awful experience, this place is extremely basic for the price. There are much more interesting spas that feel like an oasis rather than a boring white building with nothing to offer

This was such a welcoming and restful experience. The front staff was extremely polite in conducting my booking. The changing rooms was superb! I booked the muscle tone massage and it was perfect. My masseuse was accommodating to my needs which was very lovely. I definitely felt transformed afterwards. I highly recommend checking out their services if you are looking to relax

Just wanted to thank the spa for a most amazing few hours for my friend and I. We both had incredible massages, but I splurged for the Boost your Energy experience which was worth every penny! My massage therapist (I forgot her name - sorry!) provided one of the best massages ever. I've never had my joint issues relieved with minimal pain but she made my whole body literally sing! And Kellie who did my facial may have been one of my fave estheticians ever. We had a great conversation about Korean, and she gave great recommendations for my skin. I've dealing with facial dermatitis which she lessened about gave me such a glow. I truly enjoyed getting to know her and the whole experience. The foot baths and relaxation lounge literally put us to sleep instantly...ahhh.

Attached to the Four Seasons Hotel, the Guerlain Spa is an excellent place to stay if you're looking for an indoor spa. They have a fantastic setup and very accommodating customer service. If you're looking for something truly special with your partner, I highly suggest you check out their private suites - you get multiple treatments and can stay in the room with a jet bath tub for an hour. They also serve you champagne and an array of delicious bouchés and deserts.
