I’ve been a patient at Compass Dermatology in Toronto for seven years, and there aren’t enough good things I can say. I came in skeptical after poor experiences elsewhere, but under Dr. Cook’s care my acne has completely healed. I truly believe her expertise and compassion made all the difference. Over the years Dr. Cook has taken the time to understand my skin history, explained the science behind each treatment in plain language, and tailored a clear, realistic plan that actually produced long-term results. She is thorough during exams, conservative but effective with prescriptions and procedures, and always checks progress closely. I have been going to Compass Dermatology for approximately five years and it has transformed my skin. Thanks to the amazing Dr Cook, my rosacea is under control. Dr Cook has also provided superb advice on what laser treatments to do and then the incredible and always uplifting Ciara, is a true pleasure to have do the treatments. I am extremely disappointed and honestly offended by my experience at Compass Dermatology. Last week, I had a consultation with their laser technician, Ciara, who told me I would be a good candidate for a combination treatment approach for my facial concerns. I left that appointment feeling heard, hopeful, and positive about moving forward. Today, I met with Dr. Sonya Cook, and the experience could not have been more different. She abruptly shut down everything that had been discussed previously, told me she would not be treating me at all, and went as far as telling me to “find a psychiatrist.” This was shocking, dismissive, and deeply inappropriate. The contrast between what I was told by their own technician and how I was treated by the doctor was jarring. I felt completely pushed aside, as though my concerns didn’t matter and I wasn’t worth the time or respect of a proper explanation or discussion. Being told to seek psychiatric help instead of being treated with empathy and professionalism was humiliating and unnecessary. I came in seeking dermatologic care, not judgment. I am disgusted by how this was handled and would not recommend this clinic to anyone expecting consistent communication, compassion, or patient-centered care.

Dr. Redlick is a wonderful doctor who takes the time to listen and truly cares about your skin. I have recently been working with Karina, who is absolutely great! She has taken the time to really make my skin glow! On top of that the staff is always so pleasant and everyone is always smiling!
