Artesano Cafe and Nail in Vancouver

I was really excited to try this salon after seeing their Instagram—it looked beautiful and the work appeared high quality. Unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing and felt like a marketing trap. I drove across town for a girls’ date and paid extra for Gel-X, expecting a premium service. I had a broken nail and explained that in the past, salons have reinforced it with an artificial nail for strength. Instead, the technician simply glued my natural nail back together, completely disregarding my concern. Within three days, the nail broke again. I returned for a fix and was told gel would be built over it. When I asked if it would last until the end of the month, I was told “maybe,” but I trusted their expertise. It broke again within three days. Now, another nail (my thumb) has also broken. I’ve never had this happen at other salons—especially when paying extra for Gel-X. For the price point, I expected better technique, durability, and care. Overall, this was not worth the cost, and I left feeling very disappointed.

Went today for a birthday treat and drove all the way from Surrey because the place looked amazing on Instagram, especially in the owner’s videos. Unfortunately, the real experience didn’t match what was advertised. When we arrived, the café area wasn’t very clean — there was hair on my chair even though it wasn’t busy. I got a pedicure, and my sister got shellac, hands, and a pedicure done. The seating wasn’t very comfortable, so it was hard to relax during the service. On top of that, during my pedicure they didn’t even clean my heel, which is a basic part of a proper pedicure. The staff were friendly, but they seemed scared to tell us that about five of the colours we wanted weren’t available. Another confusing part: you pay extra for the coffee, but they didn’t have any espresso drinks at all, even though the name is Artesano Café. They only had Vietnamese coffee today. If you call yourself a café, it’s strange not to offer basic espresso drinks. The marketing online is done very well, but honestly it’s not truthful to what you get in person. The staff are not at fault — they were kind and trying their best. The issues clearly come from owner/management, not the employees. Communication was also difficult because the staff barely speak English, which makes it harder for them to handle customer needs. The service pricing is confusing too. For example, there’s an extra $5 charge to remove shellac even when you’re getting a new one done — usually that’s included, so it felt unexpected. Overall, the experience was disappointing and nothing like what’s shown on Instagram. Sadly, I wouldn’t recommend it.

I visited this nail salon and café after being recommended by a friend, and I’m so glad I did! I booked a removal with a deluxe manicure (gel shellac polish) and a signature pedicure with gel polish, and also ordered their Vietnamese brown iced coffee. The aesthetic of the salon and café is absolutely beautiful — peaceful, relaxing, and spa-like. The atmosphere made the experience feel luxurious from start to finish. The service was amazing! The staff were so kind, attentive, and detail-oriented. I really enjoyed my time there, and I love that you’re welcome to relax in the café afterward. I’ll definitely be coming back again and highly recommend this salon and café to anyone looking for quality service and a serene experience💅☕️

Oh my god I’m absolutely in love with my gel manicure, especially with the cat-eye design! Julia was so skilled and took the time to make sure the effect looked just right from every angle. The finish is so glossy giving its glass effect, and the magnetic shimmer gives it such a cool, dimensional look. I feel so fresh after the manicure especially because she cleaned up my cuticles so well. The shape? Perfect. The colour? Beautiful. The work? Art. I highly recommend Julia if you need a good manicure~ she won’t disappoint! Not to mention the clean aesthetic of the place and the tasty drink options~ I’m definitely coming back, I recommend this place!

This is my go-to nail salon! The atmosphere is always welcoming, the staff are super friendly, and they really take the time to make sure you’re comfortable. I love that they offer tasty drinks while you get pampered—it makes the whole experience feel extra relaxing. The services are consistently great, with lots of attention to detail, and I always leave happy with my nails. Highly recommend for anyone looking for quality service and a pleasant experience!
