Strøm spa nordique / Montréal (Île-des-Sœurs) in Montreal

We visited Strøm Spa Montreal (Nuns’ Island) on Wednesday with a reservation for 11:00 am. This was our first outdoor spa experience, and while many aspects were excellent, the restaurant unfortunately took away from the overall experience. The spa facilities themselves are very well maintained, peaceful, and thoughtfully designed. There are multiple saunas and baths to rotate between, so it never feels repetitive. Towels, lockers, and robes were included, which made the visit smooth and comfortable. The main downside was the Nord restaurant. Although it was convenient to walk in wearing our robes, the food was very underwhelming. All the dishes we ordered arrived cold and lacked flavor, which was disappointing considering the high prices. Service was also extremely slow. Since this is the only food option on site if you do not want to leave the spa, you are essentially stuck with it. The spa itself is high quality, but the restaurant does not meet the same standard and ended up lowering what could have been a much better experience.

The experience was nice and relaxing. Very therapeutic. The view was breathtaking as i went in winter. However, the service wasn’t up to standards. It was my first time at the spa. The service was disappointing due to the lack of staff attentiveness. From the start, there was no explanation of the process or what to expect, and once inside, you were essentially on your own. The email confirmation provided no guidance on what to bring or how to prepare, which added to the confusion. Having visited other spas, I’m used to a more thoughtful experience where basics like slippers and light refreshments or nourishment are offered. This spa fell short of those expectations. Also through out the spa, there was lots of whispering areas signs but everyone was quite loud!

Really enjoyed my visit here. The spa is cozy, the salted water pools feel amazing, and the relaxation areas are calm and peaceful. It was a birthday gift from a friend, and honestly it turned out perfect. The food was surprisingly good, prices were fair, and the whole environment felt well designed and relaxing. A great place to disconnect for a few hours.

Strom was an absolute, beautiful experience, extremely therapeutic and relaxing. I was visiting Montreal and Strom came highly recommended. The property itself is large, fully equipped with dry Saunas, cold plunges, relaxing lounge chairs to take a nap, a facial station for hydration post spa day. The restaurant was very enjoyable. The locker rooms were clean. I highly recommend checking this location out for all of the amenities that they have whether traveling solo going with a group or even for a date. The minute I walked in I knew I was going to be able to check in and mentally check out while I fully immersed myself for a day of contrast therapy. Loved their cold plunge, the views of the lake were so beautiful.

Visited from Toronto. Really nice Nordic Spa in the Montreal area. It has everything you need for a great visit. Really enjoyed their wet/ dry saunas. Suggest going early in the day so it won’t be crowded!
