Bota Bota, spa-sur-l'eau in Montreal

A favourite spot for an urban spa which offers the best view of the city from a hot tub. Great to take advantage of quieter times in low season. The quality of their massage therapists is outstanding. The food in the restaurant is of great quality. Would agree though with some reviews that locker space could be better: small locker space and a bit outdated.

What a quaint and creative way to repurpose an old ferry boat! Located right on the St. Lawrence River in Montreal, Bota Bota offers a charming outdoor garden with a few hot and cold pools on land, plus a wonderful riverside restaurant. The ferry itself is filled with cozy sauna and meditation rooms, creating a unique and calming atmosphere. Massage services are also available. Not as expansive as Scandinave or Thermea, but overall a great spot for relaxation and a memorable spa experience.

I went here on a Thursday for 4 hours at the water circuit - it was a great experience with a very relaxed and chilled vibe. Very unique setting since you get to view montreal from the water. Location is also great! The food is ok, nothing special. Staff very friendly. I would flag it has a ‘silence and no phones/tablet’ rule everyday except Thursdays where you can speak / bring your phone.

The water circuit is perfectly designed, with hot baths, cold plunges, and relaxation areas that flow naturally. The facilities are very clean, well-maintained, and never feel overcrowded. Staff are attentive and welcoming, always making sure guests feel comfortable and relaxed. Overall, Bota Bota combines relaxation, wellness, and stunning scenery in a way that’s hard to find anywhere else. I’d highly recommend it whether you’re a local looking to recharge or a visitor wanting a unique Montreal experience.

What can I say about this place? It was MAGICAL!! What a cool idea to convert a boat into a spa. It just works on so many levels! The staff was kind and incredibly helpful, the facility was clean and fragrant, the water circuit was a fun adventure with its daybeds and fun sips, while the massage was OUT OF THIS WORLD!! I can't wait to return and experience this beautiful escape many times over. No photos allowed on site!
